Letter from the Principal
Summer is still
going strong but it's time to start getting ready for the upcoming
school year. The start of school is one of my favorite times of the
year because it represents a fresh start after time away with family
and friends. I love seeing our returning students as well as meeting
our new students. I hope your student is looking forward to a great
year at Tolt!
Speaking of new,
please join me in welcoming the following new staff members to Tolt.
They are very much looking forward to investing into our students and

Next Monday, August 27th is our Orientation from 8 - 11 am
and 12 - 3 pm. See below for more information about this day. Student
schedules will be released in Skyward this day and hard copies will be
given to students who attend Orientation. I understand schedules were
viewable in Skyward for a short period of time in July. Student
schedules may have changed from what they were in July as our
counselors have been balancing classes. Schedule change requests are
typically only granted if there is an error in a student's schedule. We
are excited about our new electives for 7th and 8th graders and did our
best to give students their top choices even as this was not always
possible. If you have a question or concern about your student's
schedule, please contact their counselor. Since our counselors will be
in all-day meetings on Tuesday, August 28th through Thursday, August
30th, they will respond to emails and phone calls received during this
time as quickly as they can starting on Friday, August 31st.
We are excited about having the WEB (Where Everyone
Belongs) program at Tolt this year and have a wonderful group of 8th
grade WEB leaders ready to help our 6th graders transition into life as
a Thunderbird. While more information about the first day of school
(Tuesday, September 4th) is below, please note that 6th graders and 8th
grade WEB leaders will attend all day while 7th and 8th graders will
only attend in the afternoon.
We hope to see many parents and guardians at our
Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 13th starting at 6:15 pm in our
gym. This is a great opportunity to learn first-hand about your
students' classes and make initial connections with their teachers.
Please arrive early as parking will be limited. If you come early,
please come to our PTSA general meeting at 5:45 pm in our gym. Our Tolt
PTSA is wonderful and your support of our PTSA truly makes a positive
difference for our students.
I wish you all a great year at Tolt! Feel free to reach
out if you have any questions. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we'll
see you soon!

graders and 8th grade WEB leaders: 8:25AM - 2:57PM
and 8th graders: 12:25PM - 2:57PM
The first day of
school on Tuesday, September 4th will look different this year as we
introduce Tolt's new WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) program. WEB helps
students transition into 6th grade through engaging activities led by
8th grade student leaders.
In the morning, 6th
graders and 8th grade WEB leaders will be the only students on campus
as they participate in WEB activities. The morning will include a
welcome assembly, community-building activities, and a tour of our
campus. Our 7th and 8th grade students will arrive in the afternoon for
shortened class periods.
Here is some
important information, with times to note:
- 8th grade
WEB leaders will need to provide their own transportation to
arrive at Tolt by 7:15 am.
graders will pick their bus up at the normal time and arrive at
Tolt for the start of school at 8:25 am. Breakfast will be
available for purchase in the MPR as it normally is in the
mornings when students get off the bus. There be a 30-minute lunch
scheduled for all 6th graders and 8th grade WEB leaders.
- 7th and
8th graders will pick their bus up 4 hours later than normal for a
12:25 pm start time. (This means if the bus normally picks a
student up at 7:38 am, the bus will pick them up at 11:38 am on
the first day of school.)
will be available for purchase in the MPR when students get off
the bus similarly to how breakfast is served in the
and 8th graders should not arrive on campus until at least noon
as their day will not start until 12:25 pm.
- From 12:25
pm - 2:57 pm, all students will attend periods 1-6 on a shortened
bell schedule. School will end at 2:57 pm for all students.
Students in all grades will ride the bus home together.
Our Tolt PTSA is providing refreshments for 6th grade
parents in the MPR starting at 8:25 am. Drop your 6th grader off and
then come connect with our PTSA and other 6th grade parents.
Your understanding of these shifts to our first day of
school are appreciated. We are certainly excited about how the WEB
program will help our 6th graders with their transition into Tolt. A
big thank you to our Tolt PTSA and REF (Riverview Education Foundation)
for providing funding for WEB.
Device Checkout Information
Our students are
fortunate the Riverview School District provides devices for all our
students at Tolt. Students will check out their device during their

Math 8, Pre-Algebra Classes
September 6th - Math 6, FA Math 6, Advanced Math 6 Classes

Parents and guardians, your assistance in ensuring your student charges
their device every night and brings it to school every day is most
appreciated. For more information, please see Riverview's
